It’s fascinating to me how one day you can feel on top of the world, while the next day you just feel like laying in bed.
Our feelings are so fickle. Thank God we have a choice in the matter!
There are certainly times where our intuition and how we feel should instruct us, but, when all is objectively well, we need to recognize this, and see that our brain often plays tricks on us.
If we were only interested in “following our hearts,” an unwise approach, we’d likely end up in a place we are not happy with.
Conversely if we only “followed the logic,” we likely wouldn’t be a very fun person to be around.
Maybe that’s not true though… Spock was likable, wasn’t he? Star Trek, anyone?
Moral of the story:
We have a choice to show up even when we don’t feel like it.
Nuance:
If we don’t feel like showing up for an extended period of time in a work relationship or personal relationship, it may make sense to examine that and get to the root cause. If it’s just a one-time or infrequent experience, don’t read too far into it.
